The Securities and Futures Commission announced that it has banned Yao Weicheng, the former head of Creation Wealth Asset Management (Hong Kong), from rejoining the industry for 15 years, believing that he is not a suitable candidate for licensing. The commission stated that the disciplinary action was based on a previous decision by the Market Misconduct Tribunal, which found that Yao Weicheng, as the former head of Creation Wealth, was found to have engaged in market misconduct for conducting false trades in Sinopharm Technology (08156.HK) and Quantum Think (08050.HK). He conducted these trades through the brokerage accounts of the hedge fund managed by Creation Wealth and his mother's brokerage account, causing trades in his mother's account.
